I come from Mexico and have a background in agronomy, landscape ecology, and landscape architecture, this combined academic background has given me more than 20 years of experience where I have had opportunities to work and share my knowledge in different ways.

Throughout my studies, I participated in workshops, seminars, and volunteer activities that had to do with sustainable, organic agriculture, and after graduating I worked in Kenya in organic farming. On my return to Mexico, I worked in a sustainable food production program, and simultaneously, I had the opportunity to take over the management of an ornamental plant nursery. This not only provided me with a source of extra income but also opened the doors to me, in a very practical way, to work in landscape design. Combining agriculture with landscape design broadened my scope of work and understanding of the connectivity between all living things, I felt I needed to learn more about this and  I completed a master's degree in landscape ecology in England.

I lived several years in  Europe and in the US, and on my return to Mexico in 2006   I met a group of innovative people with a common interest in exploring and integrating nature on vertical surfaces, we began designing and building vertical gardens and co-founded Verde360 a landscape design practice in Mexico City. I continued traveling back and forth between California and Mexico collaborating on projects for residential gardens and working in urban agriculture. My curiosity to learn more about the Bay Area led me to study landscape architecture at a community college, I realized how much I liked the learning-teaching environment, and later I was offered a position as a faculty adjunct to teach and coordinate the certificate of Urban Agroecology where I stayed until the end of  2021.  Family circumstances took me back to Europe and I now live in Zurich, Switzerland together with my Swiss husband, our young teenager, and closer to my sons in Denmark.
